The Collis community had great fun celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee when all 23 classes gathered together for a ‘Big Lunch’ on the school field. This was preceded by Class 4R’s special assembly, which was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! Children came to school dressed up in glorious outfits and costumes and looked especially regal.
Guests of honour were members of the Elleray Hall Day Centre who entertained the children with their memories of the Queen’s coronation and reign. The Salvation Army band made sure the day went with a swing by playing a rousing medley of patriotic music.
Earlier in the day, the pupils and staff worked together to produce a ‘Mile of Pennies’ with the proceeds going to charity.
Thanks to all staff for their hard work and thanks also to the CSA for their support with our event. A special thankyou goes also to our kitchen staff who made supreme efforts on our behalf.
We all had a wonderful celebration today!!
