Over 70 choir members from Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 attended the Singing Festival 2011 on Tuesday 29th March at The Rose Theatre in Kingston. The theme was ‘Time’ and the children turned up in some spectacular costumes, reflecting all sorts of periods in History from the Tudors to the modern day! The children sang ‘Time Machine’, ‘Good Timin’’ and ‘One Moment In Time’, along with many other children from schools in the borough. They have also been working hard on a Friday morning before school, learning two songs, which they performed by themselves on stage at the festival: ‘Time Passes’ and ‘Monday, Monday’ which the children performed brilliantly – well done to you all, we are very proud of you!
A big thank you to Mrs Doley, Mr White, Miss Browning and Mrs Cooper for helping rehearse the choir. And thank you to all staff and parent helpers involved with the trip for their support on the day, and to all parents for their enthusiasm for this event.
I would also like to mention those choir children, who were not taking part in this event, who continued to attend choir rehearsals and showed their commitment and passion for singing – well done and we look forward to seeing you all again next term.
Choir will restart on the second Friday back after the Easter holidays (Fri 6th May at 8.15am)
